Fishy Friends is the newest restaurant to land on The Terrace, right in the heart of Christchurch City.

As part of the brand identity, I crafted a custom fish icon using the two Fs from the Fishy Friends logotype. The brief was to incorporate a fish into the logo, but instead of reaching for a generic shape, I transformed the initials into a playful and distinctive mark. The result is a symbol that’s meaningful, memorable, and completely unique to the brand.

As you can see below, the fish icon was created directly from the FFs — a clever detail that ties the concept back to the logotype in a way that feels intentional and ownable.

This character-filled icon works beautifully on its own or as a repeating pattern across packaging, signage, and digital applications.

I developed a full suite of logo variations for use across signage, social media, and print. I also designed all of the restaurant’s signage, menus, and promotional materials to ensure a cohesive and eye-catching brand presence.
